The App does not collect or store customer personal information (such as names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, order details, or payment information). When a shopper clicks the button, they are redirected to WhatsApp as configured by you.
1.2 Merchant & Shop Information
- Merchant settings you provide: WhatsApp channel link, button label/visibility, style/placement preferences, and related configuration values.
- Basic shop data from Shopify during OAuth: shop domain and identifiers necessary for the App to operate within your store.
Where stored: All configuration data is stored inside your Shopify store using Shopify Metaobjects (app‑owned records). We do not store this data outside Shopify.
1.3 Shopify APIs & Scopes
The App requests only the minimum Shopify API scopes required to function (e.g., to manage app‑owned metaobjects and the theme app extension). You can review the exact scopes on the Shopify installation consent screen before authorizing the App.
2. How We Use Information
- To display the WhatsApp button on your storefront according to your configuration.
- To save and retrieve your settings from Shopify Metaobjects.
- To maintain and improve functionality strictly within the Shopify ecosystem.
We do not sell, rent, or monetize information. We do not use information for advertising or profiling.
3. Legal Basis / Controller
For merchants in jurisdictions requiring a legal basis (e.g., GDPR), our processing of merchant‑provided configuration data is based on contractual necessity (to provide the App as described) and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the App. We act as an independent controller for the limited settings data you provide to the App. We do not process customer personal data as part of this App.
4. Data Storage & Location
- All App configuration data is stored within your Shopify store using Shopify Metaobjects.
- No external databases or third‑party storage services are used.
- No data is exported by us outside of Shopify’s infrastructure.

- We do not share data with third parties.
- Data is accessed only as necessary to provide the App’s functionality and fulfill support requests initiated by you.

Your settings are stored on Shopify and benefit from Shopify’s security controls. We follow best practices for least‑privilege API access and do not collect sensitive information (e.g., payment data, order contents, or customer PII).

- Ensure your use of WhatsApp complies with applicable laws and platform terms.
- Provide accurate configuration data and avoid including customer personal data in free‑text fields.
- Publish your own store privacy policy describing your communications with customers via WhatsApp.
8. Data Retention
- Configuration data remains in Shopify Metaobjects while the App is installed.
- Upon uninstallation, Shopify removes the App’s access. App‑owned data stored in your shop may be deleted automatically by Shopify or by our uninstall processes. You may also remove remaining app‑owned metaobjects through Shopify Admin if needed.
9. Your Rights
As a merchant, you can access and update your App settings at any time in your Shopify Admin. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR/CPRA) such as the right to access, correct, or delete your settings data. To exercise rights relating to the Shopify platform (e.g., account data), please contact Shopify directly.
10. Children’s Data
The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly process children’s personal information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance.
